Castle Birthday Cake

My daughter wanted me to hold a party for her at her nursery, so i asked her which cake she wants, she instantly replied castle cake :) i tried to make her change her mind because i was kind of finding it difficult to make a castle cake ;) but she would not budge from her choice of cake, so here it is the finished castle cake for her nursery party...
i regret not taking more photos of the cake in the making.. hopefully will remember next time when i make a cake..

2nd Birthday party at my daughter's nursery..

I liked the first cake so much that i made a second cake similar to the first one for my daughter's birthday party at her nursery.. but i added books, apples, rulers, color pencils and scissors to transform it into a more school themed cake rather than just art...
cup cakes.... again with pencil or crayons..
individually packed the cupcakes in their cases to give out to the kids in her class, her teachers and other play school staff..

Racing car birthday cake

Nursery rhyme themed Birthday cake..

We made this cake for my niece's birthday party. i think 2 or 3 years back..

Vanilla Cake

This one we made for a friend's birthday, but have made another cake for ourselves too :-) just today..

Here is the recipe if any of you like to bake this cake..

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup milk
1/4 cup sour cream

1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2/3 cup butter

1 3/4 granulated sugar

2 eggs
Method:
. Preheat the oven at 350c. Grease the cake pan you want to bake in.
. In a bowl mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
. In another bowl mix milk, sour cream, and vanilla and keep aside.
. Beat the butter and suger together, with an electric mixer, until light and fluffy, start adding egg one at a time until well incorporated. Than start adding the dry ingredients slowly alternating with the milk mixture..
. Pour into the cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
. cut, taste and enjoy!!
